Medical portraits

An increasing number of hospitals are using the power of video to demonstrate who they are and what they stand for. Posting short online video portraits on their websites is a good example of that. Formal photo portraits have made way for short dynamic videos in which a medical specialists introduce themselves briefly. Medical Media House has become a leading expert in the production of these medical portraits.

Approach

Each portrait is based on an interview. An experienced interviewer with a good knowledge of the medical workplace poses thought-provoking questions. This leads to in-depth, personal conversations.

To support the interview visually we shoot footage inside the hospital. Outpatient clinics and the nursing units are perfect locations to see the specialists in action. The challenge is to complete the process as quickly as possible. In our experience, based on the chosen format for the video's, it takes no more than 1 to 1,5 hour to shoot the necessary footage for a complete portrait.

Result

On average, a video is viewed 200 times a year, with peaks of over 400 times per year for specialists with a lot of patient contact. Primary care workers have also experienced the advantages of the short videos. They can now refer patients to videos of their treating physicians by way of a first introduction.

Various hospitals including Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST), Ziekenhuisgroep Twente (ZGT) and Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis (CWZ), use our services.
