Ministery of VWS information video

Assignment

The VMS safety programme 'Prevent damage, work safely’ has contributed hugely to the improvement of patient safety in Dutch hospitals. This programme was launched by NVZ, NFU, FMS, V&VN and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport. How did this large-scale programme lead to the vast improvement of patient safety in Dutch healthcare? Medical Media House was asked to make an international video about the background of this collaboration, unprecedented in the history of Dutch hospital care.

Approach

We based our film script on subject research and preliminary talks with the various parties involved. This script instantly clarified who would talk about what regarding their role in this programme. The film looks back on the unique collaboration between the four main parties and the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, Edith Schippers, which resulted in one single safety management system for patient care.

Result

The film has a distinct 'Proud to be Dutch' quality to it. Civil servants at the Ministry of Health and Welfare regularly show the video to their international colleagues. It allows them to illustrate the unique collaboration and its result.
